Has it ever dawned on you that Cain and Abel were both serving the same God? It wasn't like Abel was serving YHWH and Cain was serving the Devil. They both were serving the same God!

God tells Cain in Genesis chapter 4,"If you do well, will you not be accepted?" I believe this was a test. The test was more for Cain than it was for Abel. Cain is the older brother and throughout the bible the eldest son is the one who is supposed to receive the blessing from the father. Remember when Isaac was tricked by his younger son Jacob? The blessing was suppose to be given to Esau because he was the older son but he did not receive it; one reason being that he sold his birthright. Or do you remember Reuben? If I remember correctly, he was Jacob's oldest son meaning he would receive the greatest portion of the inheritance, but he was disqualified because he slept with his father's concubine (Genesis 35:22). The point is this: Cain was being tested by God and if he would have done well he would have been elevated beyond his wildest dreams.

I believe strongly in my spirit, this day, that God's children are being tested! God has chosen His people to be set apart, consecrated unto Him only. We, as people of God, are a peculiar treasure, a chosen people, a royal priesthood of priests and kings. God is drawing a line to see who's really His. I believe we are about to see a merging of the world and the church like never before. 1 John says that they went out from among us. Meaning, they were once involved in church (and still are), but they began to turn. They were traveling in the right direction, but somehow took a wrong turn. YES WE ARE ALL GOD's CHILDREN! But like Cain was too, he turned his back, there will be those who turn their back on God and depart from Him giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons (1 Tim. 4:1).

A deception is here and not only did Cain serve God at first; he disobeyed God and allowed the enemy to infiltrate his life. There are some who started off serving God with great zeal, but are now allowing the enemy to infiltrate their lives and the CHURCH.

Be not deceived my brothers and sisters in Christ. Stick to your first love Jesus (Rev. 2). Abstain from EVERY form of evil. Seek God daily and His righteousness (Matt. 6). Cling to what is righteous and holy and good. Don't do what Cain did even when he was warned by the Lord to do good, he gave up. Endure to the end for great will be your reward. Look up for you redemption draweth near. In Jesus mighty name.

Spiritual Cain

In Genesis chapter 4 both Cain and Abel bring an offering to the Lord. The Lord does not accept Cain's offering. At that point, Cain allowed Satan access to his life.

This is a spiritual picture of the church today. Instead of Cain growing closer to God, he gave Satan a foot-hold in his life to use jealousy, envy, and hatred to overcome him. You have an individual who does not receive something from the Lord and instead of growing closer to Him, they let a feeling of unworthiness overburden them. Instead, that situation should he used to grow closer to the Lord, just like Hannah did in 1 Samuel 2, praying continuously. Or like Jacob did wrestling with God and not letting Him go until he got his blessing or breakthrough (Genesis 32). Then next thing, that individual leaves the church and begins to speak things against others and the church committing " spiritual murder." In a sense they leave the church and leave God because God was trying to grow them and elevate them but instead they walk out of what God had for them just like Cain did.

One act of disobedience results in a chain link of consequences. The rest of cain's life suffered dramatically.
